05 Feb Skye
When you drive over the bridge to Skye, it feels like you’ve entered a different planet. It is so rugged, noticeable by the landscape as well as the people. Everything looks like it has given in to the elements.
This was probably the first vacation that I went on that the weather was terrible, and did not want to cooperate. Regardless, it didn’t get in the way of us exploring Skye top to bottom. As silly as it felt hiking in 50mph winds and heavy rains, it would be just as silly not to see the landscapes of Skye.
- The town of Portree. We used Portree as our base, and did day trips to see the isle.
- Scotland has this mystical feeling to it. Indescribable actually…
- The only thing missing from this photo is the gale force winds.
- Just a little windblown…
- Neist Point Lighthouse was our first destination on Skye. Its so picturesque, but I have a feeling that whoever was responsible for living here feels a little different.
- Day 2 in Skye started off really nice, but bad weather was lurking around the corner.
- On the west side of Skye, there is a spot called Fairy Glen. Its such a bizarre landscape. According to myth, this is one of the locations that fairies could be found.
- Even got to witness a Scottish wedding. Might not be very orthodox though.
- What are you looking at?!
- The Old Man of Storr
- On our return to Edinburgh, we visited the Fairy Pools. It was so beautiful and calm.
- Again, according to myth, this is where fairies are born.
